American TransMed, is an advanced life support ambulance service provider inspected and licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control-EMS Division and the North Carolina EMS Division. 

American TransMed is staffed around the clock by highly-trained individuals who routinely respond to the daily multitude of requests, for service generated by individuals and medical institutions throughout the upstate and central regions of South Carolina. American TransMed has recently entered into an agreement to provide services to Rutherford County of North Carolina. 

Utilizing state of the art vehicles and equipment, American TransMed responds to each request with expediency and punctually in order to lessen the anxiety of the patient, medical staff, and the institutions that request our services. 

Our management team reflects over sixty years of combined experience with emphasis on practical business strategies that best suit the needs and requirements of our clients. By using a comprehensive arrangement of personnel, vehicles, and supply controls, American TransMed can substantially reduce its overhead expenses, thereby passing the accumulated savings to its customers. 

Mr. Greg Kirby founded American TransMed in May 1997. Mr. Greg Kirby served as the Director of EMS for Cherokee County, SC from 1980 to 1996.  Additionally, he served as the President of the South Carolina Association of EMS Directors. 

Mr. Greg Kirby and business partner Mr. Roger Shiflett now own the company with offices in Spartanburg, Gaffney, Georgetown, Conway, and Rock Hill.  American TransMed is currently serving a nine-county region within North and South Carolina. 

American TransMed is the exclusive ambulance provider for Mary Black Memorial Hospital of Spartanburg, SC, Conway Hospital of Conway, SC, and Premier Health Systems. American TransMed is also currently under contract with the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC.
